I’m Dipak Pangeni, the founder of Nepal Yetiraj Treks, and I warmly welcome you to explore the breathtaking trails of Nepal and the Himalayas with us. My journey into the world of trekking began in my childhood, growing up in Chormara, a small village in the Terai region of Nepal. From a young age, I was captivated by the call of the mountains, and over the past two decades, I have had the privilege of guiding travelers from all over the world, including French and English-speaking trekkers, through the most spectacular landscapes of Nepal and India.

Like many in the trekking community, I started as a porter, gradually working my way up as an assistant guide, and finally becoming a fully certified trekking guide. For several years, I worked with a renowned French-speaking agency in Kathmandu, gaining valuable experience and forming strong relationships with travelers, guides, porters, hoteliers, and local communities. Encouraged by these friendships and the trust of my clients, I decided to establish my own trekking company—Nepal Yetiraj Treks—to provide a more personalized, ethical, and enriching experience for adventurers seeking the true essence of Nepal

Why the Name ‘Yetiraj’?  

The name "Yetiraj" holds deep personal and cultural significance for me. It is my religious name, given to me at birth by a priest, and it means "King of the Yeti." In Nepalese tradition, a religious name carries insight into a person’s life and destiny. While my parents later gave me the more commonly used name Dipak (or Deepak), Yetiraj remains an important part of my identity.

The Yeti, a legendary creature of the Himalayas, symbolizes mystery, strength, and resilience—qualities that define every trekker who embarks on an adventure in Nepal. But don’t worry, unlike the mythical Yeti, I am a friendly guide, ready to help you follow in my footsteps safely and joyfully!
